The insurance companies, in their effort to boost their bottom line, are now asking people to install computers in their cars that will track their driving patterns. The insurance companies argue that this will allow them to determine who is more likely to be in an accident and to set rates accordingly.
This strikes me as a horrible invasion of privacy. The insurance companies are trying to get as much out of you as they can. This is strictly their effort to increase their bottom line. Besides, how you drive is not the only thing that effects your chances of being in an accident. How many people do you see driving and drinking coffee, or putting on make up? These factors play a huge role in accidents, and no computer will be able to track that.
