I keep on this issue because it is so clearly a bad idea by Mr. Garamendi. His rate proposal, which I have talked about several times before, now has a new foe: the senior citizens.
The California Senior Advocates League recently came out with a statement against Mr. Garamendi’s proposal. Their basic argument: rates will go up for senior citizens on a fixed income. These are the very people who can least afford to have their rates go up.
Mr. Garamendi proposed this idea a few years ago. The senior citizens rose up against it then. It looks like they are going to do it again. Good for them!
