Alert the press. Oh wait. They already know. This story has gotten more coverage than you would think. But, for those of you who missed it, here it is from the San Jose Mercury News.
Apparently, teenage girls are getting hurt by cheering or cheerleading or whatever you call it. (If you know what it is properly called, let me know.) Why does this matter on an insurance and personal injury blog? A few reasons.
First, these girls go to the emergency room. If they have no health insurance, guess who pays for it? You and I.
Second, if you are a parent of a cheerleader and they practice at your house and someone gets hurt, guess who is going to be sued? You. At school, the school has immunity. At your house, you do not.
Now someone needs to figure out how to make it safer.
