I previously posted about pet insurance here. Well, today I was reading my google alert and I came across a news story about pet insurance. So, I thought I would pass on more information.
The Whittier Daily News reports that Pets Best thinks there is a healthy market for pet insurance. This is not some fly by night operation. They are a subsidiary of General Fire and Casualty. Trust me, they are serious about the pet insurance business because General Fire is serious about insurance.
Average premium is $350 per year and they pay 80% of the bill after the deductible. As someone who just spent over $500 on a vet bill for my puppy, I think this is a great idea. If you have a pet (or pets), you should look into Pets Best or one of its competitors.
