A warning to those of you searching for an attorney: check out your attorney before you hire him or her.
Here is an article from the California State Bar about the Bar shutting down non-licensed attorneys. If you do not hire an attorney for your case, do not hire anyone. A paralegal cannot file a lawsuit on your behalf. When I was an adjuster, I refused to deal with paralegals who tried to represent people in auto accidents. And, most adjusters I know, take the same position. Only a licensed attorney can file a lawsuit and represent you in court. (Of course, you can do it yourself, but why?)
If you want to check out your attorney, here is the State Bar’s page to do just that. Type in the name, verify that it is the right attorney (there are a lot of Jonathan Stein’s who practice in this state) and you can verify that the attorney is licensed and check his/her discipline history.
