In what should come as a surprise to no one, the Florida Attorney General has sued Marsh and McLennan for bid rigging. You may recall that NY Attorney General Spitzer previously sued Marsh and settled for $850 million. California recently settled with Marsh for $15,000 in investigative costs.
Good job Mr. Garamendi. Everyone else seems to be able to resolve this and all you can recover is the investigative costs? Where is the money for California residents and businesses? California may have the weakest Department of Insurance in the country.
Remember when you call around for an insurance quote, you should call several agents and brokers. This guarantees you getting the best rate from the best carrier for your situation. And remember not to shop on price alone!
