I was involved an an automobile accident. I was injured and have medical bills. Who is responsible for paying the bills, my health insurance or the other party’s automobile insurance?
Your medical insurance has to pay. They don’t have a choice.
As for the other driver’s insurance, they won’t pay anything until you are done treating. It is just how our system works. If you get an attorney, the attorney can get any unpaid bills put on a lien. This allows the provider to make sure they will get paid at the end of the day.
At the end of the day, your best option is to make sure your health insurance pays the bills and then these bills are included in your settlement.
