Q: I sued someone and I don’t have an attorney. How do I serve them?
A: Use a process server. Technically, anyone over 18 can serve a lawsuit as long as the person doing the serving is not a party to the lawsuit. In other words, you cannot serve your own lawsuit, but you could have your friend serve it. However, there is an art to serving someone. Good process servers are worth their weight in gold. You need to make sure that this is done right. So, pay the $30 or $40 and have it done right.
