I wish everyone would do this. When you are involved in a car accident, or any event that causes a release of adrenaline, you are not going to feel pain immediately. At least, not everyone will feel pain right away. That means you may be hurt and may not know it.
The pain may not start for a day or two days. You may have a “whiplash” injury and not know it. Then, when the pain starts, you wait a few more days to go to the doctor. Then its the weekend and now we are over a week since the accident before you go to the doctor. Do you know what the insurance company is goig to say? You waited too long and they will not pay for your medical bills, wage loss or pain and suffering.
It can be a pain to go to the doctor. But take the time to make sure that you are taking care of yourself. Especially if the airbags deploy, you need to be checked to see if you have burns on your arms or chest. Your worst case scenario is that you go to the doctor, you are fine, and you are out a copay. Do not try to be Superman (or Wonder Woman) and tough it out. Get checked out!
